Refractions of Mankind by Katie Ewles

October 24, 2019 by bsoaadmin

‘Refractions of Mankind’ is an exploration of the human condition through paper collage. Works aim to reflect the human experience as non-linear and examine the flux between chaos and control, and, by extension, the limitations of human nature. Works are largely informed by process and exist somewhere between painting and sculpture.

Katie Ewles, a visual artist and musician, aspires to create work that reaches across disciplines and audiences. Often Katie’s work confronts ideas of identity, nature, time, community, and existentialism. Ultimately, Katie hopes her work will encourage introspection in viewers, and urge them to consider the value and limitations of conventions in their own life experience.Refractions of Mankind
