SUPPORT ART IN OUR COMMUNITY – BECOME A MEMBER AT THE BSoA!
Your membership not only helps us to maintain and offer free admission to The People’s Gallery, our exhibition facility at City Hall, but also shows us that you believe in our efforts within the community.
The Bermuda Society of Arts (BSoA), originally known as the Society of Artists in Bermuda, is a nonprofit organization which was founded in 1952 by 25 enthusiasts. It is a registered charity (#115) run by two staff members and dedicated volunteers. We are Bermuda’s oldest art organization going into our 62nd year and BSoA is the ideal place to appreciate Bermuda’s current art scene. Known as ‘The People’s Gallery’, artists of all ages show work in a wide variety of media and there is always a selection of artwork for sale.
There is a new show featured in the galleries at the BSoA every few weeks. A variety of workshops and lectures are also held throughout the year.
Our galleries are available for rental purposes and can be used for any special event including social functions, presentations and weddings.
BSoA features unique events such as presentations, music shows, wine tastings, fashion shows, movies and community events such as youth centered workshops, drawing sessions on Nelly’s walk, the public piano project, puppet workshops and many others.
The BSoA has been partnered with the Bermuda School system for 50 years featuring work of students across the island. We hold an annual schools art show which exhibits work from primary, middle, and senior students from both public and private schools.
The BSoA works with other community organizations to showcase local work including Keep Bermuda Beautiful, Bermuda Audubon Society, The Chewstick Foundation, Bermuda College, Department of Community Cultural Affairs, Kaleidoscope, Pecha Kucha and MAWI.
