LIFE DRAWING SESSIONS

Regular life drawing sessions take place every Tuesday evening at BSoA Galleries 5.30-7.30pm.

This is an open drawing/painting session using both male and female models to give artists the opportunity of working from life.  Although there is no instruction, the sessions are structured with timed poses and there is generally discussion between the artists.

Cost for a series of 8: $180 for Members $200 for Non Members.  The current series runs from September 15th 2009.  Drop-ins are welcome at $30 per session.

LIFE DRAWING CLASSES WITH EMMA INGHAM–DOUNOUK

Commencing Thursday September 17th, 2009 5.30 - 7.30 pm

10 sessions for Intermediate or Advanced Students $280 Members $300 Non Members

You have always wanted to continue those drawing classes you did in school  – now is your chance!

This course of 10 lessons is designed for those students with some background in figure drawing. Students will work from the figure - male and female, both clothed/draped and nude. Instruction will cover the aspects of proportion, gesture and movement, dynamics of line as well as the essential principles of good design and composition. Put away your pencils and enjoy working with pen and ink, charcoal, sepia and conté and watercolour washes.

OUT OF THE X-BOX:

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN AGED 6 – 12 SATURDAY MORNINGS

 

Designed to get children out from behind their computer screens this creative art workshops with Ami Zanders will have a new and exciting project every week including wall hangings, accordion books and baskets.  Whilst making these creations students will learn a range of skills from  print making, weaving, wool painting, tie-dye and batik.

When:  Saturday Mornings 10.30 am – 12.30 pm 8 sessions commencing September 19 2009

Where:  The Bermuda Society of Arts, City Hall & Arts Centre, Hamilton

Cost:  $150 Members/$160 Nonmembers

Good presentation is very important to your artwork both at home and when exhibiting in art galleries.  Anita Belvin from Frameworks will talk about the whys and wherefores in the world of framing.
