Artists Invitational Hands on Art – Tactile Show
This is a tactile exhibit especially for the visually impaired members of the community. We will be encouraging people to view the art with their fingertips, so the more textural it is, the better. This is not limited to sculpture, but also encompasses textiles, collage, ceramic, wood, stone, sand, glass, acrylic, and any heavily painted, embossed and embellished surface. Try to create a work of art that can be enjoyed using senses other than sight - so include other sensory effects – music, rattles, drums, chimes, even instruments – please use your imagination to come up with a new sensation to appeal to everyone. We are also asking for some unique art objects to be put inside boxes and ‘viewed’ by putting your hand in the box and feeling what is inside. And there will be blindfolds for anyone who is lucky enough to have sight, just so that you can experience this show as it is meant to be ‘seen’ – by touch.
